Hi all! I know close to nothing about painting but I wanted to paint a computer case white (so metal), with some black logos and may have hit a stumbling block that I'm hoping someone will be able to shed some light on, or maybe tell me that everything will be alright!

One blogpost of someone who had done this before used Rust-Oleum primer+paint spray paint
https://www.bunnings.com.au/rust-oleum-340g-gloss-ultra-cover-2x-spray-paint-white_p1580672

I wiped the case with a damp cloth and then a test paint worked well so I painted the whole case but I got issues when putting on a second coat, so I just did one thick coat and was pretty happy with it, but this is an issue when it comes to the logos. You can see the outcome here

I spray the black paint on the case and after about 5 seconds it starts to 'react to something'. I don't understand why the bottom right corner worked fine, why can’t that just happen everywhere haha

Both the black paint and white paint underneath wiped clear with no effort when I started cleaning it up, at least for everywhere that you can see the black paint lifted. With the outline of the logo taped out I was able to clean all paint off and apply one coat of black paint and it worked fine (not perfect  last photo)

I need to paint one more logo, is there something I can do so this doesnt happen again? Or do I need to do the same process, tape out my logo, clean the white paint off then paint it black?

My biggest concern though, it that I was going to paint a clear coat over everything because I'm bound to knock and scratch the case and I don't want to wreck the white paint, so I bought the same type of paint, just in clear, would it do the same thing and wreck all my work? Or are clear coats different (it doesn't say paint+primer on the can)?

Sorry for my first post being a long post :D
